Audience Feedback

Throughout the process of creating my magazine and processing my blog I have received forms of feedback from people in my target audience. I showed my many drafts and then my final products and received feedback from them that way. I also took part in class focus group tasks where we analysed each others work.

All these forms of feedback helped me hugely in the long run, as they gave me pointers on how to improve my work for my audience's benefit, as well as making my product more professional and reliable. The feedback also supported me and allowed me to have confidence and to be proud of my work and inspired me to make it as best as I could make it.

Model Organisation For Shoot

This is my evidence of m y model organisation. Within this, I have double checked with my model that she is okay with all of the plans, and what I need from her for the shoot. I have told her a location and time for when she is needed and this allowed me to be organised as well as organising others. By doing this, it helped me in the long run so that there were no complications on the day and so that everything was running smoothly.

Resources needed for photoshoot

  • Model
  • Models costume
  • Model's makeup
  • Studio
  • Professional lighting within studio
  • Canon camera
  • Backdrops
  • Coloured lighting
  • jewelry
  • Seat for photos
  • MAC computer to check images

Audience Feedback

This is showing my final piece of feedback on my final products. Ellis is a fan of my chosen genre, and agrees that he would buy my product. This is excellent news, as I know that I have definitely met my targets in terms of needed conventions. He was pleased with all the elements I had included and agreed that it was professional.

Final Hair and Makeup Ideas.

I have decided that within my shoots, my model will sport a wavy haired look, as well as a more thought of curly hair look. The style of wavy hair/ afro connotes ideas to traditional females in Hip-Hop and R&B which makes links my model more effectively with the magazine.
As for Makeup, I am going to go for a winged eyeliner, with red lipstick, as this is one of the most iconic and flattering ways to have a look with impact. As well as this, the use of black and red will work with my colour scheme of my front cover, which includes black and red, as well as the likes of grey, white and gold. Another thing about this look is the fact that is definitely feminine, but with the use of the bold detail and colours, it makes the model look fierce, which is perfect when thinking about females in Hip-Hop as they are traditionally represented as being fierce and powerful.

Booking the studio

In order to take high quality images, I had to book my studio. To do this, I emailed the studio within the photography department of my college, asking permission to use their sources. This is the email what I sent. Hopefully, with the booking of the room then technicians will assist me with my photos, and give me tips on the best shot angles etc.

Costume, Hair and Makeup Ideas

My Competition

I initially will always have competition when creating a brand new product on the shelves. However, I would face the biggest competition with magazine in the same sector as me. Vibe and XXL are both two very successful Hip-Hop and Rap inspired magazine. Both of these prints have been on shelves for a respectful amount of time and are loved by fan worldwide. They provide a healthy and entertaining source of information based around this genre, and is updated and designed to keep up with current trends in all areas. I would class these as my competition as I am almost decoying their ideas to create another form of information on this genre. It is clear  by just looking at these example covers that they provide a reliable and enjoyable source of information, and are high quality products, due to the professional images, and well thought designs and layouts of the covers.  Also, these mags have already created fans or profound readers of their own, giving them infinite support over mine already. However, I will create my product while being inspired by these products, but at the same time using some of their own original ideas, so that I am positive that my content will be suitable for usual readers of these types of magazines. I would therefore compete with these products by thinking about what kind of conventions I could add to my magazine that would rise above what Vibe and XXL usually include. This could be difficult, however, if I stuck to traditional elements of these magazines, while also putting my own spin on a variety of conventions, I could initially attract my own audience.
