Final Draft Of Front Cover

Final Draft Of Contents Page

Final Draft Of Double Page Spread

Q7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from the first ask, to the full product?

This mind map shows my evaluations on how my skills and understanding has developed, and how my magazines differ within their appearance and professionalism.

This is the final draft of my preliminary task. Looking back on this now, I see such huge differences in my current skills and my past skills. I feel as if I have improved in man y ways, especially in the way that I have learned to design and layout my pages better. I agree that my preliminary magazines looks slightly unprofessional and the design choices could be rethought. However, this experience allowed me to get ideas for my music magazine, and definitely helped me in the long run, as you can see from the contrast of both of the magazines together. The use of colour is clearly different, as I have thought further into what looks aesthetically pleasing and what fits my genre appropriately. Along with this, I thought about different forms of font, as the ones I used in my college magazine looked very basic on the page, and I knew I had to spice up the page more on my second try, and try and make it more appealing to the reader. Lastly, the use of my images were definitely thought of more in my music magazine. I made the pictures more professional and high quality, as I knew this was more effective on the page, and in general to be classed as a decent magazine with quality. Overall, I think it is pretty clear the changes that I have made and the way I have progressed between both of these tasks. I am grateful to my preliminary task, as it gave me the best experience to understand Photoshop's software, and without it I would not have been as confident as I am today with the program.

Final Draft Of Double Page spread

This is my final version of my double page spread. Since my last draft, I have accomplished finishing the interview, and also making alterations to the layout of the full page, to allow it to look professional and neatly set out. I also changed the boldness of the pull quote on the left hand side, to allow it to stand out better. Overall, I do like my double page spread, and how it has turned out. I believe it represents the Hip-Hop female nature with the colours, text and images included.

Double Page Spread Draft

This is the current stage i am at with my double page spread. Since the last session, I only had a paragraph or so of text, I have now advanced to almost finishing the interview of my double page spread. I have tried to line the text so that it does look professional, however, my plan is to write my interview first, and then make final touches to this, so that it can be perfect. I also edited the pull quote that is next to the picture, so that it is closer to the eye-line of Cheyenne. Once I have completed the text, I may focus on more pull quotes, or to possibly add more smaller images to present my variety of material.

Assessment Feedback

At this certain point in our coursework, where everyone should have at least have content for every page, my lecture took in all of our work that we had, and gave his own comments and ideas on how to improve our magazine. This feedback of the levels, which I  all got at proficient, covers all of my pages, and the comments are on different aspects of different pages. From this information, I can now work to improve and complete these pages, along with my lecture's guidance and personal comments on how I can create and advance my magazine in the most effective way possible.

Peer Assessment On Grammar

We took part in another peer assessment task, however, this one revolved around Grammar and punctuation. These are the comments and feedback I had received from my peers. Making these changes will allow me to make the content professional and correct, and therefore making the magazine of better quality and effect.

Double Page Spread - First Draft

This is my first draft of my double page spread. I have edited the image, to make it look more professional, and fitting to the genre. I have started to add content that suits the needs of a double page spread, like headlines, and an actual interview, along with pull quotes in different locations across the two pages. I really like the cooer scheme at the moment, as it looks professional but also fits the genre. To conclude, I certainly haven't made full changes, and I am still to add more content and features to the pages.

Assessment Feedback For Current Contents Page

For this task we had to assess each others current work, and comment on strengths and areas to improve. These were the comments that I received for my current contents page. I received complements like, the layout and color scheme was good, along with the language against the genre. Also I got feedback and instructions on how to make the contents page better. I was told to edit some text so that it made more sense within the content, and to also edit my picture further to allow it to look more suitable for the contents page, and to allow it to look more appealing in general, which I agree with. Furthermore, I will continue to make these changes, in an effort to improve my current grade.

Feedback on Drafts

At the stage where I had completed my first draft for my front cover and contents page, my media class gave peer feedback on each others work and from the image above we can see which feedback I received. Some of the positive comments I received was that my images were clear, and stood out against my design. Ive used the same font for the name of magazine which allows it to look professional. The boxes in the contens page also make it look neat and tidy. I also received a few constructive instructions or possible improvements. a few people added that I could use a range of different fonts. Others consisted of increasing the brightness on some images, and adding social media logos to connect the magazine with online institutions. I will definitely take on these ideas when producing my final draft for these pages, and at the same time, take some of my own advice, to allow it to be at my own standards, and others.

First Version Of My Contents Page

This is officially my first finalized draft for my contents page. Since the last attempt, I have finalized and added extra features, so that it ticks the boxes for a professional cover page. I have moved around some of the features like the number of the pages, and the titles that are above them. I also changed the brightness and contrast to experiment this option. I made sure that each piece of text included two lines of text so that the whole page looks even and nicely set out. The image still looks effective next to the text and supplies an example of one of the articles in the magazine.

First Edit Of My Contents Page

This was my first attempt at a contents page. First I have tried to create a starting template or set out to keep all of the content for the page. At this stage, I have two boxes that I will keep the titles of pages and features from the magazine. I have placed my image so that the main profile faces the text, while still looking at the camera, in a way to connect the reader to the artist and the information on the page. I have tried to to add different forms of fonts and colours of texts to add variety to the page. I increased the brightness and contrast of the original image, so that it would match slightly with the effect of the front cover. I have used boxes to create signposted boxes, to add effect for the page, and within this, I have used colours that are suitable for the genre. However, this is only my first draft for my contents page, and there is still a lot of elements, aspects and features that I need to continue with or begin to create.

Second Version Of My Front Cover

This is my next draft of my front cover. I have tried to add various elements that allows the cover to look more like a traditional Hip-Hop cover. From some of my feedback, I decreased some of the features on the side, while also adding a banner at the top of the cover, as many examples of professional covers add this feature. I also positioned some of the text differently in an effort to make the cover look more dimensional, professional and nicely set out. The effect has stayed the same as before, and the colours used definitely represent the hip-hop nature and culture. Lastly, I did alter the size of the barcode, to allow more room for the content around the cover.
