Feedback on Drafts

At the stage where I had completed my first draft for my front cover and contents page, my media class gave peer feedback on each others work and from the image above we can see which feedback I received. Some of the positive comments I received was that my images were clear, and stood out against my design. Ive used the same font for the name of magazine which allows it to look professional. The boxes in the contens page also make it look neat and tidy. I also received a few constructive instructions or possible improvements. a few people added that I could use a range of different fonts. Others consisted of increasing the brightness on some images, and adding social media logos to connect the magazine with online institutions. I will definitely take on these ideas when producing my final draft for these pages, and at the same time, take some of my own advice, to allow it to be at my own standards, and others.

First Version Of My Contents Page

This is officially my first finalized draft for my contents page. Since the last attempt, I have finalized and added extra features, so that it ticks the boxes for a professional cover page. I have moved around some of the features like the number of the pages, and the titles that are above them. I also changed the brightness and contrast to experiment this option. I made sure that each piece of text included two lines of text so that the whole page looks even and nicely set out. The image still looks effective next to the text and supplies an example of one of the articles in the magazine.

First Edit Of My Contents Page

This was my first attempt at a contents page. First I have tried to create a starting template or set out to keep all of the content for the page. At this stage, I have two boxes that I will keep the titles of pages and features from the magazine. I have placed my image so that the main profile faces the text, while still looking at the camera, in a way to connect the reader to the artist and the information on the page. I have tried to to add different forms of fonts and colours of texts to add variety to the page. I increased the brightness and contrast of the original image, so that it would match slightly with the effect of the front cover. I have used boxes to create signposted boxes, to add effect for the page, and within this, I have used colours that are suitable for the genre. However, this is only my first draft for my contents page, and there is still a lot of elements, aspects and features that I need to continue with or begin to create.

Second Version Of My Front Cover

This is my next draft of my front cover. I have tried to add various elements that allows the cover to look more like a traditional Hip-Hop cover. From some of my feedback, I decreased some of the features on the side, while also adding a banner at the top of the cover, as many examples of professional covers add this feature. I also positioned some of the text differently in an effort to make the cover look more dimensional, professional and nicely set out. The effect has stayed the same as before, and the colours used definitely represent the hip-hop nature and culture. Lastly, I did alter the size of the barcode, to allow more room for the content around the cover.
